Thanks to Pace London for providing scans of the showcard for Derek Boshier’s spring 1965 exhibition at Robert Fraser Gallery in Mayfair’s Duke Street.

This will feature in the forthcoming Boshier monograph Rethink/Re-entry, which I am currently editing for publication later this year.

The front of the card reproduces Boshier’s kinetic/op-art piece Plaza, and Annette Green’s photo inside shows the artist with the seven works which featured in the show.

Derek Boshier’s Pop work from the 60s is featured in the current show at Whitford Art Gallery, also in Duke Street (at number 6; Fraser was at 69). This pairs Boshier with his contemporary Colin Self and also includes artworks which will appear in the monograph.

British Pop: Focus on Self and Boshier is at Whitford Art Gallery until the end of the month. Details here.

The 1965 Boshier showcard is among the exhibits in A Strong Sweet Smell Of Incense, the Robert Fraser show curated by Brian Clarke, at Pace London until March 28. Details here.

Derek Boshier: Rethink/Re-entry, which includes a preface by David Hockney, is published by Thames & Hudson this autumn.
