The Story Of The Face in British GQ

Out today, the November 2017 issue of British GQ includes a 10-page feature on my forthcoming book The Story Of The Face: The Magazine That Changed Culture.

My article turns on editor/publisher Nick Logan’s contemplation of closing the style bible on the publication of the 100th edition in 1988, and shows that his decision against that move opened the doors for a golden age in journalism as The Face reported from the frontline of youth culture through rave, grunge, dirty realism, hyperreal design, radical fashion photography, BritArt, Britpop and all that ensued.
