Yesterday we had fun in Chelsea filming fashion historian/DJ Amber Butchart for this summer’s King’s Road Fashion & Music Trail, which is is being launched to visitors to west London’s historic thoroughfare as part of Kensington & Chelsea Council’s InTransit festival in July.

Butchart – one half of Broken Hearts – was on hand to talk about Bazaar, Britain’s first boutique opened by Mary Quant, Alexander Plunket Green and Archie McNair at 138a King’s Road in 1955. These days it is Italian coffee shop Ca’ppucino.

Filmmaker/photographer Frederique Cifuentes also took the opportunity to use the adjacent Markham Square for some Swinging London-style shots.

Find out more about Broken Hearts’ Jazz FM swing show Peppermint Candy (on which I will guest on June 14) here.
