Antony Price, Peter York and the occasional Them

//Showing Price The Look Of London map.//

Conducting the in conversation with Antony Price at London’s Fashion + Textile Museum earlier this week was fun.

Down-to-earth and witty as ever, Price was also generous with his background on the technical dash he has brought to garments from the days of Stirling Cooper at Kensington Market in 1968 to the Portuguese Man O’ War creation he produced for Baillie Walsh’s Cadbury Flake ad this year.

The chat kicked off a study day organised in conjunction with current exhibition Pop! Design Culture Fashion.

Later, Peter York squared the circle by hosting a panel including a couple of “Them” (as York’s October 1976 article characterised such individualists as Keith “from Smile” Wainwright, Andrew Logan and Price, who had a starring role in the feature).
