Pamla Motown returns with a new version of The Artist T-shirt

Designer Pamla Motown – cherished for her contributions to 70s fashion with a run of sensational designs for Mr Freedom and under her own labels – is back with a new version of her graphic “Artist” T-shirt.

//2012: White on black print.//

Motown, born Pamela Harvey, was inspired by the work of Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein to produce the original design in 1971, as a one-colour print in a collection of sweatshirts for Two Generators, the post-Mr Freedom label she operated with fellow designer Jim O’Connor.

The pair subsequently moved to the US and in 1975 Motown recreated it as a four-colour design .

And now the Artist T-shirt is back as a limited edition T-shirt available exclusively from the Motown Arts Etsy shop – go here.
