Curated by Peggy Noland for MOCAtv: A haul video; how to break open Sharpies; Charlie White’s pink ad panoply; and a Whitney Houston drag horrorshow
The fabulous Peggy Noland has selected four online clips loosely linked by the theme of transformation for LA’s Museum Of Contemporary Art channel MOCAtv:
• A “haul video” from Mall Of America made by dedicated shopper PiinkSparkles
• Artist Charlie White’s astounding 2006 TV commercial for Adicolour Pink
• Teenager Hmojo99’s bedroom tutorial on how to break open Sharpies, which Noland says provides the quote of a generation: “All of you haters out there, don’t comment or don’t subscribe”
• And a terrifying performance by a Filipino drag act who, to paraphrase MOCAtv, appears to exorcise horrifying demons by summoning the spirit of Whitney Houston.
